Beauty In The Burghal: Pettingill Park

Pettingill Pond
Mia and I have been doing some more exploring around our new city surroundings. (Yes, so much that I’ve had a hard time sitting at the computer for more than a few minutes!)

We are very happy to have found this gem, within walking distance of our home! Pettingill Park offers many amenities that promote a healthy and active lifestyle.

There is a fishing pond available for kids 15 and younger. The town stocks it with trout, so the chances of the youngsters catching a fish are great! And, they do fishing derbies from time to time, encouraging families to get outside and enjoy the day!

This little guy nearly sat in our lap!
There are two playgrounds, one on either end of Pettingill Park Road.

And even, a one mile hiking trail!

This park also offers the Hasty Community Center, which we have yet to be in, but have been told that it is a big gymnasium with basketball courts, locker rooms, and rec rooms. The gym is available to public use all year long!

In addition, there is an indoor ice arena, the Ingersoll Arena. It is open year round, and people can go learn to ice skate, and hockey games are played here as well.

It’s great to know that this is just down the road, so even if we only have an hour or two to spend outdoor after work/school, we can still get out and be home by supper time!
